1. Managing Accumulated Tolerance in Single-Stage Operations Difficulty: Unlike progressive dies that complete all actions using a single pilot registration, a single-stage process requires the carbon steel blank to be manually or robotically repositioned for each step. During the final U-channel bending, even a microscopic misalignment in the locating fixture can shift the center-to-center distance of the extruded bosses, severely affecting the final bolt assembly.
